Plans to accord the late former presidential press secretary, Joseph Tamale Mirundi Sr hang in balance as he didn’t want it. It should be noted that singer Bebe Cool promised the family of the late Mirundi how he’s going to work tooth and nail to see that he’s given sendoff that befits him and what better than a state Funeral.

However, Mirundi who has been a social media enthusiast stated clearly how the government shouldn’t be involved in his funeral. Speaking in one of the videos floating across different social media platforms, he said that his will states clearly that the words government, State House or Okello House shouldn’t be mentioned anywhere on his funeral.

Although he wasn’t clear as to why he seemed to hint that this is where his troubles began, especially the health complications. He said that he was mistreated when court cases involving these entities arose. It should be noted that in 2019, Mirundi alleged how he had been poisoned.

Later on he was embroiled in a verbal war with Odrek Rwabwogo the husband of President Museveni’s daughter, Patience Museveni Rwabwogo. The controversial Mirundi accused Rwabwogo of dealing in the black market of selling human organs.

It should be noted that he served as President Museveni’s Press Secretary for 13 years until his dismissal in 2015. This is after the Court advised the President to fire him for inciting citizens into violence. Since then he has been involved in different feuds with different members of the government and first family who he often referred to as mafias misleading the President.

Meanwhile many people in different circles in Uganda are still coming out to eulogise Mirundi. The CDF and first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has described the late as a patriot who loved his country. The Speaker of Parliament Hon Anita Among has also paid tribute to the late.
